Zeiss made the best lenses for many years, they got bored of it they were so good.  Modern glass is not the same.  They focus on obtaining the sharpest brick wall pictures corner to corner, because that's what you hobo photographers test in your review videos.  Meanwhile, real glass has character.  Let's do a Q&A comparing my new Zeiss Planar 85mm f1.4 to some other legendary vintage lenses like my Canon EF 85mm f1.2 mark i, and flat garbage like the Nikkor Z 85mm f1.2 S and 85mm f1.8G lens.
