Summary

Day 6 of our van life journey didn’t quite go the way we hoped.

We woke up at a campsite and made the most of the facilities before leaving,  hot showers, washing the dishes properly, emptying the rubbish, topping up our water and getting everything sorted before check out.

From there we drove to explore Tenby, where we managed to find a free park up with some amazing views. While reversing into the spot we had a small bump with a tree, but at the time it didn’t seem like anything serious so we carried on with the day.

Unfortunately the weather in Tenby was terrible, strong wind and heavy rain, which made exploring the town far less enjoyable than we expected. We even stopped in a café hoping to catch up on some work using their WiFi, but that didn’t go much better either.

Trying to turn the day around, we headed further along the coast to visit St Govan's Chapel. When we arrived we realised the area was inside military training grounds with red flags flying, meaning access was restricted. Luckily we were still able to see the chapel from nearby, and it was an incredible sight.

Our next planned stop was the famous Green Bridge of Wales, but that was also closed due to the military range being active.

After stopping at a scenic coastal spot for some lunch, we decided to head further north and find a place to park for the night along the sea cliffs. That’s when we finally noticed the damage from the earlier bump… and realised it might be worse than we first thought.

Some days on the road just don’t go to plan.
