Summary

We’re only two days into full time van life, and it’s already starting to test us.

After spending our first night in a noisy roadside lay-by, Day 2 of our journey began in a much better way. We woke up and headed out for an incredible walk, finally starting to enjoy the freedom that made us quit our jobs and leave our old life behind.

But van life isn’t all peaceful forests and perfect views.

As the day went on, we hit the road again and continued our journey towards the border of Wales. Along the way we started to realise that living in a van comes with its own challenges, emotions can swing from feeling on top of the world to feeling completely drained in a matter of hours.

To end the day, we found a campsite where we could finally freshen up, use proper facilities, and top up our water supply before continuing our adventure.

This is Episode 2 of our Van Life Unfiltered series, where we’re documenting the first 30 days of living in a van full-time after quitting our jobs and giving up our flat.

No filters, no perfect Instagram van life,  just the real experience of starting a new life on the road.
