We woke up surrounded by mountains in one of our most secluded park ups yet and it rained from the moment we opened our eyes. Heavy, persistent, all-day Scottish rain. So the morning was slow, breakfast turned into lunch, and we eventually pointed the van towards Glencoe with a plan to stop halfway and catch up with some friends in the area. First stop was Killin for supplies, coffee, milk, the essentials and inevitably a charity shop browse. On the way back to the van, we spotted Finlarig Castle on the map, barely twenty minutes on foot away. A 17th century Campbell clan stronghold that the surrounding forest has almost entirely consumed. Trees growing through walls, roots through stonework, vegetation covering everything, it doesn't look like a ruin in a field, it looks like nature decided to take the whole thing back. Completely worth the detour. After that we carried on to meet friends for dinner and a proper catch up, then a short drive to find a park-up for the night, ready for Glencoe tomorrow. #vanlifeuk #vanlife #vanlifescotland ________________________________________________________________________ 🙌 SUPPORT US: Become a patreon member - https://www.patreon.com/cw/TakeAPeakAtThis Buy Me a Coffee – https://buymeacoffee.com/takeapeakatthis Paypal - https://paypal.me/AurimasKaniava _________________________________________________________________________
