Today started with a van life content nightmare, an SD card accidentally ejected onto wet grass, and by the time we found it, the footage was gone. Not the best start to the day. But we picked ourselves up, had a proper look around Ruthven Barracks - an 18th century military garrison with a serious history and incredible views across the Cairngorms valley, before driving on to what turned out to be one of the best stops of the entire trip. The Highland Folk Museum near Newtonmore isn't a typical museum. It's spread over a mile of land with fully reconstructed Highland settlements, turf houses, townships and working buildings from different centuries that you actually walk through. We spent most of the day there and barely noticed the time passing. Genuinely unmissable if you're travelling through the Cairngorms. Late afternoon, very late lunch back in the van, and a quiet park up to end the day. Tomorrow's another one. We're travelling through the Scottish Highlands documenting real van life UK, history, hidden gems, bad weather and the occasional disaster. 📍 Ruthven Barracks 📍 Highland Folk Museum, Cairngorms, Scotland #vanlife #vanlifescotland #cairngorms ________________________________________________________________________ 🙌 SUPPORT US: Become a patreon member - https://www.patreon.com/cw/TakeAPeakAtThis Buy Me a Coffee – https://buymeacoffee.com/takeapeakatthis Paypal - https://paypal.me/AurimasKaniava _________________________________________________________________________
