Leaving the Isle of Mull didn’t exactly go to plan… After taking on Ben More the day before, we were feeling it, sore, sunburnt, and dealing with an unwanted tick bite. So we slowed things right down, heading to a campsite for a much needed shower and reset. We took a short walk to grab some food, cooked dinner, and called it an early night. The next morning started gently with a bit of a lay in and a well needed clear out of the van (turns out we massively overpacked on our clothing). With road closures affecting part of the island, we made a last minute decision that exploring further just wasn’t worth it. So, we decided to head back to the mainland. With no online bookings available, we took a chance and headed straight to the port, hoping we’d make it onto a ferry back to the mainland. After waiting around for an hour… somehow, we got lucky. Back on the mainland, we stocked up on essentials and found a quiet spot to park up for the night, ending a slower, but very real couple of days on the road.
