PC Video Editor Switches to M5 Pro MacBook Pro — Is 24GB RAM Enough?!

Description

After over a decade of editing exclusively on high-end PC laptops, I decided to pick up the 14" MacBook Pro equipped with the top-tier M5 Pro chip (20-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, 24GB Unified Memory, and 2TB SSD). Coming from a 64GB RAM PC with an RTX 5080 GPU, my biggest question was: Is 24GB of unified memory actually enough for professional 4K/6K video editing? In this video, I share my real-world experience over the last couple of months using DaVinci Resolve on macOS, why switching was partly a business move for content creation, battery life performance, editing off internal vs. external SSDs, and pairing it with the iVANKY Thunderbolt 5 Dock for a multi-monitor desk setup. 📌 Timestamps: [00:00] 10+ Years on PC Laptops & Why I Wanted to Switch [01:10] Starting with iPad Pro Editing in DaVinci Resolve [02:24] 14" MacBook Pro M5 Pro Specs Breakdown [03:40] Why Getting a MacBook was a Business Decision [03:54] Is 24GB Unified Memory Enough for Video Editing?
